Drone-based inspection in the cement industry
Efficient condition assessment of silos, kilns, and production facilities
Reduce downtime costs and avoid dangerous personnel access to cement plants. Document the condition of your equipment accurately and safely under extreme dust conditions—without costly scaffolding or rope access.

No human intervention required: Protect your team from high dust exposure and physical risks in silos. The ASIO X performs the inspection completely autonomously, while personnel remain safely outside the danger zone.
Drastic cost reduction: Reduce inspection times from days to hours. Where complex rope safety measures were previously necessary, ASIO X delivers complete data in a fraction of the time.
Inspection during operation: Thanks to heat resistance up to 40°C, you do not have to wait for complete cooling down to perform inspections in rotary kilns, which maximizes plant availability.
challenges
Cement production is characterized by massive dust generation, heat, and huge, dark structures that often overwhelm conventional technology. We offer solutions to these hurdles:
Extreme dust concentration
Fine cement dust blinds optical sensors and causes many drones to crash. Our radar-based stabilization detects obstacles even through dense dust clouds, while the optimized drive system minimizes dust turbulence to enable clear images.
Limited radio communication in silos
Solid concrete or steel walls often block the radio signal to the drone. By using range extenders, we place the antenna inside the structure while the pilot controls it safely from outside, enjoying uninterrupted 4K live transmission.
Dark and extensive tunnel structures
In rotary kilns and silos, dark walls absorb all light and make damage analysis difficult. The market-leading 40,000-lumen lighting system illuminates even kilometer-long structures without shadows and enables precise measurement of cracks using integrated lidar.
Flybotix ASIO X
The ASIO X is a robust tool for the cement industry. Developed in Switzerland for extreme conditions, it combines 20 minutes of flight time with a cage system that easily withstands contact with walls. The orientable lidar system also allows for precise measurements on uneven surfaces.
